Butchy Boy has always slept with me, a paw or head on me to make sure I am still there
Strangely, he suddenly started sleeping downstairs. He growled if we tried to get him upstairs.
Every night he jumps up in the recliner to check on DH after he's satisfied, he sleeps on the floor. He repeats the process several times each night.
DH came home from surgery and now has his personal 4footed guardian angel

that's sweet. He is going where he needs to be.
