Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning, Grannyland! Almost 9 a.m. here and has been raining like Noah's deluge here! All the rain we didn't get in the last month has ganged up and will be hitting us in the next week or so. So if you don't see me I'll be out in the back swimming with the chickies!
Did you know that chicks don’t float for long?
I remember having chickens drown in the stock tank.
Maybe coat yourself with Vaseline that way you at least won’t become waterlogged. 😇

howdy all, lazy day.

Thank you, Troyer, duly noted. 😉
No worries, fat floats. :lau

ISA Brown pullets. 2 of the 4 that we bought and shoved under a bantam pullet that didn't know to stop being broody after 5 weeks on some rotten eggs. She did a good job of raising them. Next time I'll just get chicks after about 17-20 days and stick them under her again. May just stick some eggs in the incubator.

Bought 5 of these as Cinnamon Queens. I've never heard of Cinnamon Queens with heavily feathered legs that are going to be the size of bantams. These are within 10 days the same age as the ISA Browns above and have Fowl Pox very badly. Raised by a Dark Cornish hen and a White Giant hen. After a couple of weeks the Dark Cornish hen had stolen all 5 of them. The White Giant continued to help defend them but the Dark Cornish was feeder mom and kept them all under her at night. Time to go out and doctor up these precious babies again and give them a dab of treats. They all mob us now when we go in the pen and run.

That looks bad. I wish you all the best in curing them.

poor babies..

Comes and goes. Sammy's sitting in my lap but not on my head, lol, and he's alert and wary but not trembling. I haven't given him anything yet but might give him half a Gaba as we're exoecting more severe stuff in a couple of hours.

Glad you enjoyed your road trip! Sounds like fun. I had a bf once with a road hog. 😊
We have a Virago. Love the old bike to pieces. We don't travel too far with it, mainly sight see the area around where we live. There is some spectacular scenery up here.
