Granny's gone and done it again

And ... why cubalayas? When and how did you discover them, and why did you pick them to be "your" breed?
I saw them first in a poultry catalog when I was 19. I ordered some along with a few other breeds and they were friendly from day one.
They had a curious friendly disposition with hardly any handling, they weren’t crazy flapping psychotic screaming to wake the dead chickens when we caught them off the roost at night.
Whenever I was out with them in the run or when they free ranged they would come up to me wondering why I was amongst them. They easily ate out of my hands and made great pets.
Now. All of that being said, not all breeder lines are like that, some need a lot of selection to get them to be curious and friendly without being handled much.
