I saw them first in a poultry catalog when I was 19. I ordered some along with a few other breeds and they were friendly from day one.And ... why cubalayas? When and how did you discover them, and why did you pick them to be "your" breed?
Lmaoooo yupWe're glad, and I'll bet they were too.![]()
I had coturnix and awwwI did button quail. Sooo cute!!
Thanks!!!!! And mine I got for eggs and then eventually I used them for meat. But they were also eye candy/pets for a while LOL the chickens were pets and for the eggs LOLNice, Shrek! People talk about their quail but they don't seem to post a lot of pics. They're really pretty. Why do people have them? Eggs? Meat? To sell? Eye candy, lol?
both legs below the knees and down.Is this about your other leg, Granny?
I'm so sorry Granny. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be in your shoes.
they both sound so good to me. I bet your frittata was much better then the way I was showed to make one using tater tots and I didn't like it at allOh, @microchick, I hate that your little Peanut is having such a hard time.
But it sounds like your HAM potluck went great! I'm trying to imagine a sour cream choc cake ... must be rich. Don't tempt me, I've had my share of these awful cookies today and am chocolated out for the moment, lol. Never thought I could get so much chocolate I'd be like, please, no more! But that is where I am today.
The fritatta was excellent even though I scorched the bottom, which was a layer of thin-sliced potatoes. That was Melissa's favorite part!I gave her mine and she lit up like a Christmas tree, lol. I'd accidentally left a burner on and when I took it out of the oven I put it back on the burner!

Those feathers... I love them.
Blue the recipe is here on the home bakers thread on BYC. It is an 'antique' Pennsylvania Dutch/German recipe passed down from my paternal grandmother to my mother. Mom always said it was the only good thing she ever gave her. I reminded her about dad and she repeated the statement. Always a funny response.Oh, @microchick, I hate that your little Peanut is having such a hard time.
