Granny's gone and done it again

I crate my young dogs until I can trust them
I'm glad crates work for you but I never liked crating. How do they learn any boundaries if they are in a crate instead of in the house interacting with people and other animals and learning what the word NO means? I can understand them having a 'safe' place to go to overnight until they are big enough to be let loose in the house. Pi's was the bathroom until she learned how to climb over the safety gate then we knew it was time to give her overnight freedom. I know people who swear by them. I just don't and too old to start now.

Still mad you got snow and we didn't, @microchick! DH says we got rain but we weren't able to collect rain in buckets bc it was too windy to put the buckets out! I don't think we got very much rain anyway and what there was, was driven hard and sideways. Humph! All my daffodils and other flowers got flattened. The forsythia and redbud are a little battered but still bravely blooming to some extent.
Yeah, y'all got the storms didn't you? Poor flowers. We had blowing wind and 4" of snow. All that's left is where it drifted. There was a foot deep one out on the south side of the front fence. There's only about a 3 foot stretch of it left along with some random deep areas but it should be gone by tomorrow.

I covered the few tulips I have up and nothing else has started to bud out yet up at this end of Missouri. Well, my pussy willow did do it's thing and the lilies are coming up but that is it. Spring comes slow this year.

Do you guys have any experience with ivermectin with your chickens? I need to worm Cheddar..on top of everything else she has worms 😞
Topical? Yeah. Three drops under one wing each large hen or rooster, 2 for mediums, 1 for littles. I repeat it in a month if the infestation is bad.

I've had cordless before. They never seem to last for me for some reason and if we should forget to secure it every time we get up from the computer desk it's going to become a play toy. Just holding out for her to grow through this phase. Always an adventure.
You're so patient with her!

Yeah, I use a crate at night for puppies too, for potty training. I won't let them out in the morning until they vocalize in some way, a grunt, a whimper, a whine. Over time I "shape" for more deliberate vocalization till I get a bark. That becomes their "ask" that they'll use the rest of their life. Otherwise, like MC, I just supervise. But I don't generally have 8 to 12 puppies at a time in the house like h2o might!

Oh they are out plenty when I am there to supervise them but when I leave the house, at night and when I can’t watch them they go in their crate. Makes potty training a breeze because most dogs won’t pee in their crates.

Exactly!

especially if you feed them in there. However, I gotta confess and my sister told me this, Take the dog outside and show it how its done. LOL I did and it worked.
I've been MIA most of today. Just wanted to let y'all know Im having a hard day today.

So, guys... I just candled my 5 eggs in the incubator and I have no idea what I'm seeing. Tonight is three days since I put them in on Sunday evening. What I am NOT seeing is a nice neat network of veins all around, or anything that I might consider an eyespot.

What I AM seeing is this. At least one egg (blue) is completely clear. Not fertilized, I get that. At least two of the others have blobs floating in them. One has a single blob, one has two blobs. They are completely free-floating, these blobs. To me, this does not bode well, but I know nothing.

The brown egg also has a blob up toward the air cell, but it's more stationary, not floating. And I'm not sure but I THINK I might see teeny tiny veins around it.

Should I check them all again in two or three days, or ... just pitch them now and try another batch?
