This was one of my barn mix! We call them BALADI she was 5 years old and laying like a machine, sold here last week with all the old flock, hot a good bargain!

she is very beautiful still laying at 5 ? wow sounds like she would of been a good blood line . did you have chicks from her ?

Sigh. Never fails. Want to have a shower and hubs goes in and occupies/stinks up the bathroom FOREVER.

foot is down. If/when we ever buy a place, it will have two bathrooms. Or at the very least, a full bathroom and a powder room so he can sit on his throne for however long he wants...

Just made the girls a delightful scramble of eggs (and shell crunched up) and some random frozen mixed veggies. Once it cools down...they will enjoy this one!!

...I have too many eggs lol

I would of ate it..

Here is kipper just this week, taking part in one of her favourite past times ~

I have some other pics on the lap top that I will dig out.
Oh, what a sweetie. Thank you for posting this. For some reason I was picturing a little Jack Russel type. What breed was Kipper? We had lots of dogs on the farm where I grew up, and every death was difficult, but some were harder. Those special ones stay in our hearts.

I was in my 20s when I got my first dog of my own. I was so excited! Sitting in the veterinarian's waiting room for puppy shots, with little Lucy on my lap, a very large man walked in, visibly upset, carrying an ancient, grey-muzzled Chesapeake Retriever. He sat down across from me, cradling the dog in his lap, and I saw the tears running down his face. I looked down at my squirmy little puppy on my lap and it hit me that some day I probably will be doing the same thing with my girl. The image of that man has never left me. He was feeling so much pain. It matched how deeply he must have loved that dog. I can't get a new animal without thinking of that time.

Benny, what are red/brown chickens with the black head ? Love those..

science was my favorite in school , math my worse.  I always wanted to dissect something but never had the chance ! hahahaaa  my fascination with chicks hatching and myself wanting to open  them   ....

I dissected almost everthing! From frog through pigeon and shark and finish with a Human!

We can't have roosters here and we are also limited by the number of hens you can have
