For VA it is the SAR, Senior appraisal reviewer For FHA it is the CHUMS ID. These are designations that you earn and they are portable from one lender to another. Once you earn them they stay with you. Underwriters with both designations will earn around 70k to 110k with experience. The UW I work with got her CHUMS 30 years ago and her number is 333. they are in the 10 thousands now!
