Have not read back through today, I started this morning but the other half decided he was going to start taking the old cooker hood off and do some tiling at 6.30 this Mornng. Had to get in that torture chamber with him as he makes too much mess if left unsupervised!!

this guy. I hatched him last year and kept him. He wintered good outside with no extra heat .

No. That's southern California. Different state! We are close enough to the ocean to get a marine influence, keeps the temperatures more moderate. An hour inland from here, where I went to school, it's nasty hot in the summer. 105° at 4pm, and 85° at 4am.

Tomatoes loved it, though, and I lived next to a huge field of them.

New tile or fixing it to make the hood fit ?

Took the old hood down. Then he's added a couple of extra rows of tiles and the new hood will go up. Wanted it a bit higher, was forever head butting the old one!! Plus it was a pain in the backside to clean This new one is glass so will be much easier to keep on top of with glass cleaner. He's even put me some little coloured edging tiles on
