I got the grit and the feed store dummies know less than I do about the chicks. They are telling me that my brown one is an AmericaN (Americana). I hate this guessing game so I'll just do the wait n see game.

LOL! Love the feed store employees! I know anolder gentleman that had Rhode Island Reds and leghorns for years. Separate times. He believes that leghorns lay white eggs because they were not allowed to free range. His Rhode Island Reds laid brown eggs because they were allowed to free range.

That is funny.

I am getting so aggravated with myself for this stupid impluse buy.....I should of just ordered the **** things like I wanted to last week.

I really wanted brown eggs....Im pretty sure these California White lay white eggs so I'm a little bummed about that...now If I could just figure out what the other two breed are I might be in good shape.....EXCEPT watch this wait n see game is going to end up giving me 8 ROOs! I will die!
They did say they will buy them back if they are roos....I am a regular customer and they always seem to know an answer when it comes to horses (or at least i thought they did) BUT I am for sure now they know ABSOLUTELY nothing about chicks!

I have a darn headache!

Are cuckoo marans black with white barring???? Americanas as in ee's. Hope so, they lay green eggs and the marans lay really dark brown eggs. Good picks!!

I don't know what the heck I am working with anymore.

the first picture you showed has a big comb. Do they all ? Thats no guarantee its a roo, just a guess.

What?? You are a Granny!!! You are suppose to know everything! That is why I chose this thread...your name. My Granny knew everything when she was still here!

Granny has a lot of good knowledge of life. I agree with her... Big comb could point to roo but it's not a guarantee. Can't really know til they get big and crow!!!

I havent ate deer yet, starting to look like I never will but I dont want the hamburger or what ever you call it. I want to try the good part.
Lots of folks mix ground venison (deer meat) with ground beef or ground pork to get a little fat in the mix; deer meat is very lean, & deer fat tastes horrible.
Makes some super burgers & chili.
The very best cut on a deer is the backstrap, which runs along both sides of the spine; melt-in-your-mouth delicious
