For your sake too I hope he realizes that it's important for the kids & adults to be washing their hands after being in contact of animals. Would hate to see someone getting sick from it.Jr and sr high this week. Amazing to watch high school students pick an egg from a nest and listen for chicks.Sweet little things still searching for miracles.
It was dark enough, so I candled the eggs they were listening to, plus one from a broody. One kid said "I live on a farm with sheep and chickens. This is nothing."
Me: "it's never 'nothing'."
Him: "well, it's nothing new."
He's new to us, so I didn't want to say to him that I hope I never reach the point in my life that the miracle of life is "nothing new." I've hatched hundreds of chicks, and I'm still amazed and excited every single time.
Themselves the kind I like to hang for alligator bait
I think he was trying to be cool. I hope so, at least. He seems like a sweet kid, maybe.
BUT as they were leaving I reminded them to wash their hands. He said, "nah, they don't really need to." I reminded him that some people had touched the livestock.
"Well I live on a farm. A little mud won't hurt you."
I agreed and said "yes, but poop will make you poop."
I don't like teenagers contradicting me.but he didn't have much else to say about that.
