That's what I love about chickens. You feed them all the leftovers or too much

Can you freeze the squash ? I have a ton of tomatoes set on but no where near ready for turning.

granny you can also just wash and freeze any extra maters for use in hotdishes over the winter or chilli or spagettii. Or you daughter can LOL

I am not sure. I just gave some away. They store well into fall. Every couple of weeks I would crack one open for the chickens.

I cook my excess squash all the time and freeze it , then just pull out and reheat in oven. Instant veg.

but I grow the buttercup and butternut types aka winter squash I don't know about summer squash
