I posted a joke on facebook about Obama this morning . I thought it was pretty funny. 2 min. of it being up I hear from one of my sisters for the first time in months. her response ? "For a joke to be funny, it must have an element of truth, only a moron would find this funny". I deleted the post and her comment . Why do people want to be so hurtful ? Would it truly be that hard to just pass on by?

Dad has lost church members because they misunderstood his fb posts. He explained a movie reference to the youth group once (can't remember which one but THEY brought it up, not him) and the parents called the district superintendent and reported him.

People are jerks.
 
Politics is not what it used to be. People used to be able to have rational and respectful disagreements. Now it's if you don't think the way I do, there's something wrong with you. People, including prominent politicians, have become rude and nasty. They think their "team" is better and so must completely destroy the opponent. Both sides do it, and frankly, I don't think it is good for the country. I love it when comedians tell jokes about our political leaders; it humanizes them. First amendment right of free speech is too valuable to let anyone stifle what you want to say. In your situation, I would put the joke back up, and unfriend my sister.

And after all the insurance and hospital and Dr crap.
