took me a couple years to figure them out at TSC. They stick cuttings in rooting powder and stick them on the shelf for sale. Thats why they tell you to leave the newspaper on the roots. There is no roots on half of them.

On the box mine say they're are two-year root systems. I haven't had trouble with TSC plants.
