to be honest I /we really were NOT ready for yaks when I got them but the deal was to perfect to pass up and I have been struggling to get what needs to be done to give them the home that I want them to have.

and if you hadnt of jumped it still wouldnt be ready. It was a good motivation.

Are they going to have cover in the winter? Barn or a shelter? Not that they need it, but I would worry less.

old school. Sounds to me like you are doing a pretty FAB job with him in just the time that you have had him.

Thank you, I am teaching him manners and morels. there is so much more though.

the have the loafing barn and what we call the Horse barn down in the tit and big pasture

The calves will be moved over to where we kept the whole herd last winter there is a dairy barn and the "goat" barn in that area.

Next year I hope to build a small open on 1 or 2 sides shade/wind break shelter in the big pasture.

It seems like they need more protection from the heat/sun then anything winter can throw at them.
 
Do you remember when they first moved here and he got in trouble for stealing cards? He got in so much trouble. His mom carried on like it was the end of the world. Well, the 2 days she had him they went to mcdonalds and she missed the first window and the second didnt ask for money. He comes home bragging about how they got free food. This is what I am working against.

maybe you really should try to adopt him. At least then one has a good chance at becoming a productive and well adjusted member of society
