I have been gathering the polish eggs and started to use them last night. cracked 3 and they were so pale ! I didnt use them. I need to figure that one out. They did have mites . they have been treated and I dont see anymore.
My bantam eggs are pale too. Might have something to do with size. They store the pigment in skin and legs, and you can see they get paler over the laying season as the pigment goes into the yolk. Smaller birds have less room for storage and relatively large yolks. ??? just guessing. Try feeding them some greens every day and see if it helps. Grass will work. You can eat the pale ones, by the way. That's what the store boughts look like!

I am feeding my flock the wrong thing. AGAIN.  this is 2nd or 3rd time now I have done this.
I like the all flock too, but this week I bought cheaper food to put in the hanging feeders. I still have 2 bags of All Flock for the fermented feed I make. These dang beast have been goin thru 4-#50 bags of feed a week. Grr... I hate cheap feed though, because then my ISA's (Cinnamon Queens) start eating everyone. They are the most horrible production birds out there.

did you read where Twist thinks his CQ hens were flying over the fence killing his juvies? Are they mean ?

I really need to find a mill that grinds themselves that has something similar to an all flock raiser. Got a layer feed from one that was non GMO & would be $11 a bag if bought by the ton, but I didn't like it. Too me it was ground too fine, so much more powder.

Wait, are ISA and CQ the same bird ? I have 2 babies. one with a deformed beak. not scissor but the whole thing curves away.
It is pouring rain.

Wouldn't surprise me, they are vicious creatures. If I don't keep a very high protein feed in their area, they start eating their flock mates. I will never buy anymore, they lay great big beautiful eggs, but they are horrid.

Yep, same bird just different hatcheries call them something different. They are part cannibal, sell them granny or you will have troubles down the road. They will mess with your Polish
