If it wasn't so expensive I would mail you my Seahawks o bator I made.... And a dozen eggs from my sis. I can do the eggs... Just not sure how much the bator would run to mail.

I know this has to really hurt Kiki but you have to remember its the nature of the dog. Dogs are chickens #1 predators I believe. The best defense is hardware cloth which I think you had ? when you rebuild maybe some wood strips over the staples or whatever you attached it with. You got this. You have learned a lot about them and can start over with a better understanding . Again, I am very sorry. Dogs dont normally eat the chickens so there should be bodies around.
 
guy I am a dog person first....for me to just tell my family I am going to "get rid" of my 7 yr old dog, I had his mother and watched him be born......my 2nd favorite dog next to my 16 yr old that passed away last week,......means I am REALLY MAD......these poor babies were special to me!
I gave my last bunch (my first bunch of chicks) to my friend and I still see them daily, but these new babies were special cuz they were what I wanted....
I am rambling but darn it I am mad.......
If the pound was open right now I would be there with this dog...which I know is horrible but shoot Im pis@ed.

Vent away!! I understand. It's a horrible thing!!! Are we sure it was the dog....

I found only one dead chick with no bite marks or blood...looked like maybe a broken neck.

No feathers no nothing any where...so hopefully the other 6 flew away to safety.

I keep thinking I hear them chirp and we are still looking everywhere but I don't think I will find them.

Linda, Who just said it has been a hard week for chicks ? We have been losing a ton of them. Camping, twisted, myself, Kiki who else ?
