Now my DH can work on cars but he got stumped a lil and he would have never figured out it was the coil things with out this computer.

Said friend told us he paid 8000.00 for this computer and it cost him about 1000 a month for the updates!!!!!:eek:     
Let's just say I am so grateful to have this guy as a friend...
I can only imagine what it would have cost to take it in to a shop....I don't trust shops...the break stuff on purpose or way over charge here in Houston.

The scan tools are bloomin expensive but he's pulling your leg on the updates...unless he means snap on financing fees. Seriously those guys are rediculous. (Hubs has the snap on one too).

Honestly though, you can go to harbor freight or oreileys or Napa and get a code reader for meaaah $100 or so. It'll be able to pull codes and reset them - won't do all the fancy stuff the snap on one does (like the real-time monitors and stuff) but it'll do what a backyard mechanic needs (yes I keep my Canadian tire special in my car lol)

Maybe he meant the fees...He said the last "update" was 1000..what ever that means.
It was really cool...he was able to start my car with the Snap On computer even though the "things" were bad. (coil ignitions)
