you do realize York in a few years  Charlie is going to be hunting  2 legged foxes  :lau    And then the hubby will need a driver again.

:gig

He says those are too expensive!! He does not like to spend any cash!
I guess I will be reinstated and I bet by winter time. Dark cold wintery nights and it will be my job again :D

not up here and would depend on if you are feeding or supplementing their feed or want grass feed/raised. Check with you local farm extension agent and see what they recommend in your neck of the woods.

That's part of the reason I went with Yaks, up here 40 acres isn't enough land to justify trying to keep/raise cattle.
Your kidding, 40 acres isnt enough. wow

beside's Yaks are cool

Bye Twist!

h2oratt, is it getting hot yet? I drove down through Mendocino county. It was 103°

Don't think I could handle a week of that. Your chickens must be heat tolerant breeds?

not to justify keeping a bull and getting a vet to AI can be pricey, Also cattle should have some sort of grain feed in the winter yet another expense I do NOT have with Yaks. You can keep 2 to 4 yaks on the same amount of pasture as 1 beef cow
that is cool. I want a yak or two but I only have one acre

Been moving chickens around. 12 week olds into a breeding pen( not to breed). 6 week olds are gping into large dog crate in corner of the breeding pen. Polish are still in the rabbit hutch. Gonna need another coop before winter.
