awesome wishing, we will all go floating . I will require a water proof something for my smokes and one for the butts. I am terribly addicted. I smoked one time in the ocean Had Robert with me. Tide was out and we walked a LONG way in not deep water. I asked him to bury the butt in the sand after I had held it so long I wanted another. I had no idea what to do with it. He stuck his finger under the sand and a crab bit him ! so he was done with that little adventure . I still feel guilt .

Dead juvie in the tractor loft. I need to work today on getting birds moved around. I'm going to set up the small coop for the Dinners so I can spend two weeks fattening them up. Putting all honas back in the old coop and locking the door. Then I'll have room to add babies to the main coop and empty the brooder into the tractor. If I work this right, I can just keep moving young roosters into the small coop and fattening them up.

Until I get something new built, think I'll put Ragnar, Lagertha, and the two unrelated pullets in the small coop as a breed pen. Then I'll put the other unrelated hona roos in the old coop with Ragnar's daughters. The HRIR will stay in the main coop, with Monster as backup. I'll have to move Monster out later when I want pure HRIR eggs.

Anyway, today I'm just cleaning brooders. Good to have a plan though.

Oh poor baby. It's one of those good lessons that may have prevented hubs from almost losing a finger a few years back! But I suppose for Robert, that would have been the end of sand and the beach.

Sounds like a lot of work, camping! Maybe Danna could send her hubs down your way after her coop gets built and he can build you a bachelor pad pen.

Have you had any interest in the Honas? Sold any? Seems like you didn't have too much trouble selling sussex. Hope the Honas catch on.

No luck. As much as I hate to say it, I think I need to process a few (for real life answers when they ask) and just keep working them toward perfection til the market drops a bit. I'll probably try sussex again in the future. In the mean time, I'm going to work the HRIR too and see if they can help me catch up a bit. I've really hardly sold anything this year, mostly because I can't keep straight what's out there.

I lifted a piece of tin and found a snake, so I'm done in the yard for the day.

I'm here, but will have to go and move the water in a few minutes.  Trying to get some apples this year, so deep watering under the tree today.  I was up a 6 watering the garden.  Way too hot yesterday.  Be a few degrees cooler today, but that's not saying much. The sky is gray and hazy.  It's smoke from the fire down south near Monterey (where the aquarium is!).  Winds are suppposed to shift by the weekend and we will get our normal flow off the ocean which will cool up down good and blow all the smoke to the poor folks inland, like h2oratt.  :/

This heat is grueling. Have rush to get everything done early. It is already 80 @9:30 am. Plus I had my gd spend the night, we didn't get much sleep. I tried to turn the air off but she couldn't sleep too hot.
