Wishing here are the birds that my white columbian chicks came from.
They're pretty!! Somewhere in between Delaware and Orpington, which is why he's calling them projects. I like them, but if you really want Orps, he has a little way to go yet. I was looking up Columbian Wyandottes. Very pretty too. A good wyandotte is closer to Orp in shape, but the comb is wrong and they have yellow skin, so not easy to mix in with Orp. Cochins would get the rounder shape and loose/ soft feathering, but the leg feathers are persistent in breeding. Not easy to get rid of. So Delaware is probably the best choice. Wonder if you can still get columbian by crossing with white. Big project to be sure!!

And if you ever get over run with pullets, let me know!

Ok, my cockerel is just too aggressive with hens. I am going to have to keep him in his own cage. He not not only wore all the feathers off the back of my favorelle but now he has ripped her skin open on one side. I don't even think I can leave out side tomorrow with all the flys. I am so upset with myself that I wasn't watching better. With my husband gone all week I have just been too busy. The cockerel is still being nice to people he is just too rough. He isn't even a year old yet. I think I am going to get rid of him or I am going to have to keep him in a his own pen.

sorry all busy day and then went to an auction this evening and not home until after 10 pm. Farm tomorrow after a get a cake made and then will take that out and the frosting separate. Just a simple cream cheese frosting.
