DD needs deodorant. She's 7. Just really stinky when she sweats. Deodorant makes me nervous, so I dust cornstarch powder on her. Maybe you could get a manly scented powder for CB?
Get her a good natural deodorant (Tom's makes one), not antiperspirant. That's has the bad stuff in it. Sweat is good!
I've seen the Tom's one! I can only find it at target, and only once. I'll look again tomorrow.
Not to be THAT MOM but she gained a good bit of weight over the summer. I was always a heavy kid, and I don't want her to deal with that. I'm thinking about packing her lunch so I can have more influence on what she eats.
She LOVES to bring her lunch. She LOVES fruits and veggies just like she LOVES junk food. I know that good habits start at home, so I'm going to make a better effort to have snacks prepared when they get home, and good wholesome suppers.
We already don't keep cokes in the house, no candy, no chips or snack cakes. We get stuff occasionally, but it's never like "we're out, time for more." I was really hoping for a good garden, but I'm still not there.
Anyway, that was my little issue and pep talk to myself.
All very good ideas! I've always packed lunches for the boys. They wouldn't have eaten the school lunches anyway. Not too soon to show her how to read food labels. Emphasize health and not weight, so she doesn't focus on that. Also, you could ask her to be your exercise buddy, to help you stay healthy. Make sure she gets some treats, though. My mom never had any sweets in the house growing up, and I was always on the hunt for candy or anything sweet. Still am. If I could have had a little bit more often, I don't think it would have been such a big deal. Just don't stand between me and a dish of ice cream!
