My critters are being very noisy today. So annoying. I have one older hen I think is crazy. She sits in the coop and alarm calls (like a loud hoot) constantly for hours. I go out and try to distract her or move her or something, anything to stop the honking. It's as bad as a dog barking all day. And just when I get her to quit for a little while, one of the serama hens does the same thing in a higher pitch. And if those guys quiet down, the dogs start barking at the cars parking out front- visitors for the neighbors. AND 2 of the serama cockerels are trying to kill each other. They end up locked in battle to see who will be in last place and neither will give up. The second time i separated them, the one boy I took to the garage had a blue comb, was gasping for breath, and couldn't even stand up. I need to sell them!!

It is finally quiet and guess what... the jays are having a huge battle. Much screeching from all parts of the yard!!

Set the rules BEFORE you go into the store. Tell him how you expect him to act. They aren't born knowing, and if someone hasn't bothered to keep them in line...

Also, might be a little blood sugar thing. A little snack before you go might help.

And my last trick with difficult boys, make him run. If he breaks a rule, 2 laps around the barn. Acts out in the store? 3 times to the mail box and back. Kill 3 birds with one stone! He gets too tired to argue, he gets exercise, and you win.

If he won't run, no dinner, no tv, no tablet. You must win or he will keep testing you.

We survived! First stop: rack room for shoes. Both kids found a pair they liked. DH convinced us all to keep looking. So Marshall's, target, shoe carnival, academy, and we wound up back at rack room because it was $15 cheaper than academy. :/ DD got a size 5 shoes. so I feel a little better about her growth I guess. I have a 10-11 foot, good firm foundation.

Both kids got new shoes and new lunch boxes. We got AEM's school supplies; bubba doesn't have school supplies because the pre-k is government funded.

I'm taking him Tuesday to get his hair cut, and also to get the rest of the fabric for his blanket and pillow. I'm just going to make something quick. AEM's was a yard of cotton on one side and minky on the other side, with lace on the binding. It was pretty.

I will need to tell him the rules as soon as I figure them out ! You just expect them to know how to act. he is old enough.

sounds pretty. Robert loved his lace when he was a little. Probably still does.

He's old enough but if he was never taught these things to begin with...
