Yeah pups lick at the mothers mouth to get them to regurgitate but it could be he is licking to try and heal her bad tooth. I have dogs that lick my cuts on my legs.

Anyway you can get that tooth pulled?

Licking at older dogs mouths can be just a submissive behavoir. Pup is telling star, that he is below her in the pecking order.

My 14 week old pullets are larger than 13 month old black sexlinks. BSL have molted heavily & not started back laying. I was thinking about hatching more of them but no to that. They are so pretty but not feed efficient

Or it could be he is being submissive to her. Telling her that she is the boss. You are right it is what pups do to the mom to get food.
