Finally got home. What an awful event. They held every single bird by the wings so guess what?? Can't see anything but their feet and bellies. No pretty feathers.
I had trios listed on my farm page for $350. These are second generation from GreenFire farms. Good quality birds. The ones I brought to the auction weren't my best birds, because I'm not 100% stupid. Only mostly. Still would've been at least $100 for the trio.
They started Mr. Redcomb at $1. I should've bought him back. I'd have rather eaten him for that price. He was way too good of a roo for whatever will happen to him now.![]()
I'm still just FLOORED that the auctioneer started buff orps higher than my honas. I think he must've known the seller. Maybe they were his! There was no rhyme or reason to it. Completely arbitrary.![]()
I'm still so mad. I'm going to sleep on it before I flame them on Facebook. I know it's not mature, but I don't want anyone ripped off like we were. I say "we" because I met the lady who sold a roo for 50¢. After the sale barn's commission she sold a full grown rooster for 37.5¢.
ROBBERY. IT'S A DAM CRYIN SHAME. I'd rather eat my flock than sell something for 50¢. It's humiliating. It's saying "I see no value in the work you've done" and "I see no value in this life." One of my babies cried the entire time. I told the other lady that my birds have NEVER been handled that way. That I'm there when they hatch, looking into their eyes and counting their toes. I'm there when to go from paper towels to pine shavings to tractor. I put them on the roosts at night. I treat my birds like royalty.
After the auction I had to get food for the group (cooking for 40+ this weekend) and I had a poop emergency in Walmart. I made it, but I feel really sorry for the other woman that was in there. Then I had to pick up Jasper, then drive into a diff town to grab the kids.
I was supposed to have supper with my parents. When I realized I had swapped the times, I had them get the kids and go on. I thought after 30 mins or so is be able to meet them. Needless to say I missed supper totally.
Back at home I had to potty so bad that I left the kids in the car and threw Jasper at DH as I trotted by.
Making pancakes for breakfast. See y'all tomorrow.![]()
Without knowing the codes for the genetic markers, can't make much of that info. Locus is referring to a particular location on a chromosome... where a specific gene is located.

You understood that? You're good!! I just fixed 5 typos!!!
Ok so Porter's mother was a native black but father imperial. IYAK is a great place to do some research.

true but I really don't intend on keeping any/maybe a few of his unless there are exceptional or trims and must be girls.
I like the trims the most I think.I really just like having as many options are possible![]()
Enola, Granny and Star are all trims. Comet and Crazy Sheila are "native blacks" grey noses. like Porter.
