Granny, I know what you mean about not wanting to ask anything from anybody, but dang, you ask for so little and do so much. You deserve someone at the least. helping you out once in a while. Wish I lived near you...I would help you out. :)
 
OH! The trials and tribulations of not being able to be in control and do things yourself. I so share your frustration and understand your exasperation. God bless your spunk and willingness to try to do it yourself. You would think that by now the aide would just do what you asked and let it go. Some people's children.... You are in my thoughts and prayers, Granny!

and that is exactly what they do !! i am going to try that someday. You mean to tell me there is supposed to be meat in the veggi soup ?? but then it wouldnt be veggie soup any more. lol
 
gotta make this short but for those wondering , i got the stitches out today and it is infected. so no cast for a week, antibiotics and air is on the menu for this week. very tired, long day.
 
hi guys ! i got a booboo. lol is that how you spell it? nurse took the cast off and i thought i had popped a stitch from my falls but dr said no, it opened on its own. from infection. so i have to scrub it every day and if that is healed in a week then its back to the cast again.nurse told me to use peroxide. i thought that wasnt done any more? feels good to have it off. i am supposed to have the boot on but of course i dont have. one day of sulfar antibiotics and i got vent gleet . LOL been waiting all day for my helper they called at noon and said she was having chest pains. then they called 1 1/2 hr ago and said they would have someone here in half an hr. if they do come they will be here til bedtime. i really dont like these people coming at all. if i could figure out the food part i would fire them. i think with this cast off i can shower myself. been doing that for a couple yrs. so i meet this man on facebook that breeds seremas they are too cute. i helped him out with a trouble maker and now he wants to mail me 2 doz. eggs and a juvi pr for 45 dollars shipping. or whatever. he says the eggs never ship well and he lives 2 hrs. from me. he is willing to meet half way but i am not. he is also a judge of them so you know he has good ones. heres the kicker, he says if i am pleased with them and they hatch well, if i want to send him some money later i can. he didnt want money to begin with, i just dont like being endepted to any one. you have to keep heat on them in the winter so they are not hardy i guessing. i am wondering if i should mess with them or not. i know he is on the up and up with his offer and i do love hatching. i was supposed to get a trio of speckled sussex (bantam) today and my delivery person backed out and i didnt feel like going
 
mrsc, thank you for the advise but i dont touch the stuff. never tasted it or cottage cheese and i am sure i never will. LOL yup ! i am a baby.

A lot of serious breeders are happy to share their chickens with deserving people and 4-h kids. Sounds like he feels he owes you for helping him with his problem, so you really should give him a break, and let him give you some hatching eggs so he will feel better.

If I were you, though, I would delay it until spring. You will be more mobile by then and the weather will be a bit milder for the little Seramas. I would be way too frustrated if I had adorable little chicks that I couldn't easily spend time with.

I culled my 3 new pullets today.

The lab found ILT (Infectious Laryngotracheitis) in some of the breeder's other birds, and he tracked the infection to some recently acquired birds that must have been carriers that had recovered. Fortunately I quarantined, and it did not spread to my flock. I have never had to cull before, and hope I don't have to again.

Granny, I sure wish they would assign you a new caregiver. The girl you've been working with seems to be more trouble than she's worth.
