OH! Forgot to tell y'all my check from the auction came in today. $66, after their cut. Right around $2 a bird, evened out. I actually had a roo go for 25¢, and if I'm reading it right three roos went for 10¢ each. Obviously I'm never ever doing that again.

You are going to have to learn how to dress out a rooster or find someone close by that can do it. I would rather eat them myself than be robbed like that.

there will be scuffeling until dominance is established.   Usually just posturing UNLESS the junior one doesn't   back down.

Some breeders have very LARGE pastures and just turn a large number of females and a few bulls loose  and then "harvest"  the calf crop.

That is the type of breeding program both Star and Comet came from.  And why 2 owner's ago she had to have DNA testing.  Both girls are 100% yak  but NO family tree

Can you prove parentage by your Dna? With dogs where people can keep multiple males, we have found who someone says is the father is always correct.

Porter was more then willing to take on my "good neighbor's" bull about a month ago when the Bovine bull tried to throw his weight around with the girls. He was on his side of the fence. Porter strolled over and grunted a couple times other bull backed down right quick and now doesn't come with in 100 yards of the shared fence line.

I already know how, for the most part. I grew up skinning all sorts of animals. I haven't done birds yet, by myself, but I helped a friend process his meat birds last year. I need to get everything set up and just do it.

I'm with you, I'll eat them before I do it again.

I am sure it isn't pleasant but it will be good to know how to eat when the last days are upon us. The way the world is going it seems like it could be soon.
