I never had one. Saw them in an asian market meat case. Kind of purple-ish. The bones are supposed to be dark too. Is your guy white? Wonder if they are lighter throughout.
 
It just tastes like chicken. It looks like it died from lack of oxygen. You don't have to worry about browning it. Lol

Not much meat, but great flavor for soup.
 
I have been craving home made fried chicken but you cant do that with the culls right ? they would be tough. I miss my moms cooking a lot. LOL she would fry it in the electric skillet then pour Alfredo sauce over it with some mashed potatoes.
