WowSo I just figured out my cost for keeping chickens the past 2 years. Just feed, grit, and oyster shell for the adults only about 375.00 a year. Not to shabby and once all the free loaders are gone this fall things should bet better.
I don't know how that is possible? Tonight I purchased 4-50# bags of feed & 1 bag of grit and it cost me $79. This will last me about a month. At this price it would cost me $768 for the year just in feed. And that is figuring it at 15.99 a bag like I payed tonight, but at my local TSC it is 16.99 a bag. Right now I have 41 birds, on Nov. 12th I have 25 chicks coming.
