Hi mrsc55, I can totally relate to your back troubles. I had that same procedure done a year ago July. It helped tremendously up to this fall. Still am not as bad as I was before I had the procedure done, but defiantly not looking forward to having it done again. Will try to hold out until Spring. Hope you start feeling better soon.Geez, can't an old gal have a few days of misery without everyone doing the same? Had the "procedure" done on Tuesday. It was NOT what he had done on the lower back which was to cut the nerve. He injected directly into the facet joints on either side of the spine of four vertebrae. OUCH! Was completely out of commission until this morning. They did not put me completely out during the procedure and it was very painful and THEN he told me it would be very tender and sore for a few days. So far, only marginal relief but it is supposed to come on gradually. Something better happen and soon cuz I'm like you Granny - can't stand those darn pills. I've got a houseful coming for Christmas. At least they are family and will accept whatever I'm able to do. First Christmas with my daughter in quite a few years.
Granny, my best to your daughter and grandson. Sick kids are the worst thing. Hope he is ok soon.
I've seen the wild weather you folks are getting out on the west coast. The Russian River flooded. Wow, there are folks there who have probably never seen so much rain at one time in their lives. I hope everyone is safe and sound.
I had to send my husband to the store to buy eggs! Hurt my feelings really bad. LOL Feathers are coming back and they are looking good except for my EEs. They were the last to start molting and it's been really cold (for us) here. Low 40's at night for a couple of weeks. Funny, I make sure they have fans in their coops for air circulation because it's so hot and humid the majority of the year, but nothing I can really do when they are naked and it's cold.
Granny, if you have a military surplus store you might check that out for a duster.
Wow, there are a lot of us who have back trouble. I too have had multiple injections over the last 10 yrs. For some odd reason, and thankfully, I haven't had too much trouble with my back for the last 6-8 months. More trouble with my hips lately. My orthopedist told me that I was looking at hip replacements in the near future. It's going to have to get pretty bad for me to have that done.Hi mrsc55, I can totally relate to your back troubles. Hi Granny, I have been reading lots of your post recently, you are an extriodinary person. You remind me a lot of my own dear Granny that passed away many years ago. My husband & I spent so much time with her when our children were young. She was the most special woman. Her daughter, my Mom is such a special person too, I love her dearly. I hope things start looking up for you & your family, you deserve it.I will have to show this to him when he gets up. they did go on ebay and look but everything was 200 and up. seller says xxs to 2xs wonder if that is a typo? it would be 2xL ? thank you Lularat , thank you as well. trouble must be middle name. just getting old and cant accept it i think. my mind is still 20 but my body is in denial. think i said that backwards. lol you know what i meant. my grandchild and daughter is doing well now. step-daughter is back in the hospital. they dont know what is going on with her. wishing for a HAPPY day for all
I am way over thinking this. the babys i got from that woman that was feeding them to her cat , they are outgrowing the brooder and i dont have a grow out pen. I do have tons of room in my coop and run . I cant think of how to do it. every thing i come up with dont involve a top and i have to keep the big girls out and still be able to reach in to water and feed of course. the easiest idea was big cardboard box or 2 with "doors" lined up to each other so they can go from heated to cooler but i dont like the idea of a heat lamp in a cardboard box at all. i have extra lattice probably 2ft. by 8ft. and 2 pieces. I could attach that to the coop for a big box but again, how do i keep the big hens out? I need something simple and easy that wont take more then half an hr. to put together. its all i am good for.
