Indiana Alisan.   well i got a little work done out there but not enough. I made a big L to keep shavings in 3x8 on the floor, moved some stuff around and out. extension cord in place. my waterer is leaking at the plug on the bottom. its heated. so I dont have a large water container except for the one gallon pans and i am afraid they may drown in it. so i need a plug, 2 bags of shavings get the water and food out there then the chicks.  I seen one that had tap dance shoes on . I hope it is the only one. I will check them as i move them, tomorrow i hope . hurting too bad today.

Oh Granny, wish I was close to you so I could help you out. How are the new babies doing?

Lol, now the Phoenix they are the kind that has the long sweeping tales correct? Just re-read your post and realized you have a long tailed bantam. Now that has to make for a really muddy mess. At least it would at my house. My runs get so muddy from rain or thawing snow. Just cleaned out the coop last week to put down fresh wood shavings. Dumped the old in the chicken run because it was a muddy mess. It really helped on top of which the temperatures dropped, freezing stuff back up.

I've watched my 2 roosters the past couple of days to see who was getting the job done. Funny thing, Ollie the ackward one is now being more effective than Kazoo. Kazoo is now the one jamming the girls heads in the dirt and falling off before the job is done. So my roosters aren't the only ones mixed up this week. You would think that the rooster with the long sweeping tail would have the most difficulties with mating ~ go figure.

he is not doing a good job but he is a trooper ! give him an A for effort. I was told because he is hatchery stock he would molt his tail but so far its still growing. early spring chick. I did find one tail feather but it gets stepped on all the time.

What a beautiful boy. Love all your lush green grass that's showing in your picture too.

just a little over 2 1/2 takes me about 6 hrs. to mow on the riding mower . other people can do it a little faster.

That's nice, I wish we had acreage, we have 3/4 of an acre lot. Fortunately we are surrounded by farm land. And the little elderly farmer doesn't mind the chickens going in the field behind our house.
