Aww may you be blessed with better health & happiness in the New Year Granny. We are blowing out 2014 with a power outage. 4 eggs in a bator & 14 chicks in a brooder. Thank God for having a small generator. We have heat & so do the eggs & babies.

OK! I have had it with this year!! I got stopped at a "license check stop" coming home from work tonight Guess what I didn't have???????? My d a m n driver's license!!!!!! How can any one not have their drivers license in their purse???????? Plus, I was driving Mike's truck, which is still registered in NC!!!!!!!! So they run the tag number to see if it stolen........ Which took almost 30 minutes

So, now I am safe at home, sitting in the living room, and I have 12 beers and chips & dip. Gonna share the chips & dip with the dogs, drink beer and wait for the ball to drop.......

Happy new year all!!!!!! Finished 2014 by doing all the payroll quarterlies and year end payroll stuff still have the w-2's but that is it. Sold a black and shite male today so if the other 2 do as they say I am down to 1 black and white male. Bad news was looking at the pups and the vet missed a dew claw on one of them will have to call her Friday and she what she wants to do about that. The liver and white female (noel) is quite the little piggy almost 2 lbs total and only 10 days old. Trying to decide what types of chickens to order Keep in mind the brooder room is full of roosters. I know I am ordering more silver laced wyandotts and a few roos. A few light brahmas maybe 2 roos. Not sure what else thinking of buckeyes or legbars or roadbars any suggestions only thing must lay over 200 eggs a year and cant be white also must lay large or above sized eggs. I bought an incubator complete with turner and an quail egg turner. The Styrofoam type something giant. but no place to have just the brahma's I don't want mutts. LOL

I can recommend the Cream Legbars. They lay as good as my Leghorns. But, the eggs will probably be green instead of blue. I have 3 hens. Two of them lay green eggs, one of them lays a sort of bluish egg. Pretty eggs but not blue. The hens are tame and get along well with the flock. Both of my roosters ended up in the soup pot because they were human aggresive.

Tickets and Incubators and Beer, OH MY, everyone had a exciting night ? well, except for twisted. taxes and payrolls probably just put you in a bad mood. LOL Glad your pups are selling good. what happened to youe licence Enola ? I have never been pulled over , knock on wood. not that i shouldnt have been a couple times. hehe thank you for the wishes chicken lady . suzierd, I do add some sugar but not much. I tried molasses too as there is some in my kitchen and i have no idea why. they didnt seem to like that either unless i am not using enough. campingshaws, cute picture !! I had a great new yrs eve. went to bed at 8:30 pm and was fast asleep before 9. LOL Twist, you didnt mention that they have to be cold hardy as well. If you are going to start raising them yourself, and i know you are. and you dont want mutts. think about the friendly roosters . so far, my personal favorite is the buff orph. they are hardy, great layers, very friendly but slow maturing . I also would be interested in a buckeye though or some heritage road Island reds . those you cant order from a hatchery that i know of.

I just got a warning about my license. But Officer Williams informed me I am now in the system. I am not sure what happened to my license. The last time I had out of my wallet was for a return at Wal~Mart.
