she who Linda ? I am getting slow in my old age. typing and keeping up. did you read where My fudge is in the mail ? and I got a green egg today ? LOL thats pretty cool about Mutt.

so a basic sugar or shortbread type of recipe  That would be cool to have.

Grandma's sisters shortbread

1 lb real butter
1 lb lard
1 lb brown sugar

Cream together and add

4 lb flour by hand.

Roll out thick cookies between 2 pieces of wax paper. Bake on ungreased sheet 15 minutes. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.

These are soooooo good.

I don't eat them anymore because of the lard. It just isn't the same without it. :(

oops. My mom is going to teach me how to make fudge. HOW did you get a green egg. I thought the bird passed away. God Bless Twisted souls for taking care of you.

OMG that's a lot of water, I'll keep our sprinkles lol. Congrats on the 100% hatch Linda, pretty exciting. I have 2 Silkies sitting on eggs right now. 1 has 6 eggs

That is awesome Lisa, I really want a silkie soooooo bad. I am giving my nieces the chicks so I can fit a couple of new breeds in this spring.
They are a lot of fun, we got some because granddaughter was wanting some. Best darn broodys ever, you just don't need many unless you want to hatch all the time. When mine are laying they lay an egg just about everyday. My one momma silk hatched a batch this summer. Gave those to my BIL to help him replace some of his old ones. He gave me the original eggs that momma Silkie hatched from.

My youngest found a picture of a silkie and instantly fell in love. He is the only one that helps me with the birds and takes a huge interest so I really want to get him one.. though Im a few years away from having a large number of birds like granny has...
