Hope you had a good day with your prime rib! We had boneless cross rib roast today (Saturday) and it turned out great. Of course it was helped by the mushroom and onion gravy and the delicious horseradish sauce my brother made. After the last 3 days of marathon eating (ham then turkey then beef roast), I feel like a stuffed sausage, but it's so hard to resist all the yummys! How's your poor kitty doing? Maybe preemie diapers and duct tape and save you a lot of cleaning?

Can't remember for sure who asked me about my Icelandic roo, but here is a picture of him.

Looks like a keeper! Really unique color, like your SFH. That's a pretty fantastic comb too! I was asking in regard to your gold-headed silkie cross chick. Trying to figure out what it might end up looking like. Gotta be cool with a pappy like that!

2 of the 4 major food groups! It's hard to live in someone else's space, even if they're nice as can be, and especially with kids. You should ask for some coffee, though, and give them the chance to be good hosts, as I'm sure they want to be. Most people would be happy to accommodate such a small request, and would feel bad if they knew how you have missed your cuppa! Courage, camping!

My mom died early (she was 68) and I am always thinking about what we're missing with her being gone. Holidays magnify it even more.

I have a frozen turkey but some how split pea and turkey just dont sound right.
You sacrificed your ham bone??! You get Granny of the Year Award for that! I like making split pea soup with the veggies (onion, celery, carrot) and just water, salt and pepper and then top your bowl with crumbled bacon. Mmmmmmm..... bacon. It's a pretty good substitute for ham and the soup tastes a little cleaner to me.

He was on earlier and said he needed to "get something down". I havent heard from him since. hahaa he must be having a hard time..
I dont know where everyone has went off to. Maybe they are tired of ol granny ?

I got one of the best surprise presents on Christmas morning, a blue egg!!! One of the Ameraucana has finally started laying again! So nice to have a blue egg to go with the deep browns from the Marans and Welsummer, who have been the only two laying for the past month. Got another blue today too, for Boxing Day!

Hope to get chance to talk with everyone tomorrow! Later today, actually.
