did the same thing to me.

My breeder friend says buckeyes are gentle giants. She thinks the big guy I shared yesterday is part Buckeye.
sure is a pretty roo I thought maybe pure beiefielder or how ever they spell it.
Nope check on that. She thinks his momma was a Speckled Sussex & daddy a Buckeye/Barred Rock. But I'm not so certain, here is a picture of him next to my SFH roo. I'm thinking Buckeye/Barred Rock & SFH because this guy has a small crest & his comb is exactly like the SFH comb.
400

I didnt gather eggs yesterday and when I went out today I took 2 dozen with me to feed the animals. I brought 2 dozen back in. DH said, I thought you were going to get rid of them ? I did.

I have gave them away all I can, fed all the animals, ate them for dinner, still have about 9 dozen in there.

send them to the dd house

She is pretty Lisa..
which hatchery is it in ohio that keeps having sick birds ? One of the more well know ones. samonella I think ? They take your order, then just about the time for shipping they get closed and no chicks. Last 3 yrs. that I know of.

the more I read about Delaware's the more I like , bigger and more eggs then the buckeye, faster growing. prefer the coloring, only thing I do not like is the combs but now I am getting really picky.

the buckeye were from private breeders and pretty much the only breed they carried.
