haha, I was looking at back posts and I do remember. You said you were your own boss. from chickens right ? How do eggs keep you floating once you buy food ? I am paying about $70. a month for say 20-25 dozen .   The eggs sell here for $2. a dozen.  Not that I am selling but if I was I would still be $30. in the hole . (if my math is right)

Haha I owned and operated a trucking outfit I don't depend chickens or eggs I do offset any groceries with raising my own meat and I barter for produce I do buy staples

Hmm. Still trying to figure if I should be worried about Sam or not. (My Easter egger). She hasn't laid in over two weeks, after her productive day of one egg and one shell-less egg. She's not acting lethargic and she's way too twitchy for me to grab her and check her over closer.

I'm down now. Not much of a hunt rain, wind, and heavy rain. Rain finally washed me down the tree.

If pearl had me trees, I May have just jumped to my death lol.

Hi everybody! HELLUVA windstorm here a few days ago! 60 mph winds! Lots of damage. Just got internet back!

No hope of catching up, so is everyone alright? Still have lots of boarding dogs here, so no time to play. Love ya'll! Hope you had a terrific holiday!

Glad you are okay mutt. I think the only way to remain even with eggs vs cost is with a smaller flock... 8 hens give me enough eggs for the family and to sell a few dozen to pay for food but food cost is only 15 a month and I get three per dozen

Although my egg production is down and food up cause of the cold.
