That would be so cool Red, better start building coops right now. Hatching is so addictive. I'm sticking to the Silkies at the moment. It limits the numbers I can churn out

I'm really hoping I get it. I have some 2x4s so I'll probably start on another soon. Even if they decided to keep it Imma build one and tell pearl, you know, we've got an empty coop and it's just sitting there.

yes, I know thats not how you did yours but a bit of stubbornness can go a long way !   You said your jelly wasnt real firm. the natural pectin in the peel and core helps the jelly firm it up. It dont have to be the same way every time.  What is that saying ? Many roads all lead to the same destination.

true     but I do cheat and add pectin or sure jell   what ever the recipe calls for    


and I will know about the set tomorrow   chokecherry jelly can take up to 2 weeks to "set"

I have done it that way but lots more work (for me)  and honestly I dislike a "runny" apple sauce.   I want it thick and to stay put on the plate instead of the juice running everywhere.

I have never made apple sauce  and dont have a clue about it. But I know good jelly when I taste it.. Lisa . Tom has hid my raspberry on me.

Was a beautiful day today. mid 50s I think and sunshine . mid 50s tomorrow chance of rain. I will finish the bator tomorrow except fot the silicon drying. DS cooked hamburgers for us again today.

No she's broody, she sat 3 days on air before I tried to break her. She's not getting picked on because all my Silkies get along & I have a camera on them still to make sure everyone is playing nice with the chicks. She doesn't have a red comb because she is a Silkie.
