A big doe around here is 125 lbs. There is bigger but not many. If if thinking right for that size doe you should be able to get 80 to 90lbs dressed. So you got a good amount of meat. Too bad the steaks were so small. But at least y'all have some good meat.

Our deer are pretty small. Swamp deer. It was 40 lbs of ground last night, then steaks, roasts, and 5 lbs of sausage. We're guessing on the 80 lbs.

Jane, i don't know what breed your hens are. I am surprised the chicks aren't white. Leghorns white gene is dominant.

Red, I don't know what is normal for wyandottes, I got rid of mine before they went through their first winter. They were viscious to my other hens and their eggs were so tiny they were disappointing.

Hello! Happy Saturday to all! Sun is shining here but a bit nippy.

I've got a pork loin in the crockpot. Gotta get this place clean! My yard is underwater but the sun is shining! e so I feel motivated to get out in the house and yard.

I'm getting the honas Monday. I'm so tempted to just keep them inside for a bit... I can't stand the thought of losing them to something dumb.

I have a headache today. I'm just now finishing my first coffee, so that's probably why.
