Ha! My dad's mother was a Jew, but we didn't know it until I was an adult and she had been long dead. That makes me ¼ jewish and ¾ western European mutt. Who knew?

I almost set the house on fire the other night! Tried to put too long a piece of firewood in our wood stove. By the time I realized there was no way it would fit so I could shut the stove door, the pitch had oozed out and poof!, it burst into flames.

(Darn pine wood!) So here I am running across the room in my jammies holding a flaming log!

Tossed it out on the concrete just in time! Then had to leave the door open for an hour to get the smoke out! (Sort of defeats the purpose of having a fire in the first place.

) Luckily, everybody had gone to bed, so there were no witnesses to my stupidity. Although hubs saw the evidence the next morning, so busted!

Sorry to laugh, but since it didn't go badly, that's some FUNNY STUFF!

She was getting eggs from that pen, but not sure which bird. She let me take my pick, so I went for the best body type and comb. She's close to a year, also.
