All of my bantam hens are broody! 9 serama plus 1 cochin all vying for 16 tiny little eggs. No mre eggs coming since, well ya know, they're broody! Poor little rooster Mo is getting so lonely, he came down near the house to hang with the lf hens! Mostly he tries to stay uphill from them!

Well you should feel extra super good because I got zero done today, other than the bare minimum!  :highfive:

Nice beasties, Shell!   Lisa, I think a staffy would be Staffordshire Bull Terrier.  They're cool dogs. We had a lost one for a day once, until the owners came for him.

Amazing what a shot of adrenaline can do, huh?  You spoke before about your back being worse after surgery. I'll bet this didn't help!!

Cream Legbar, from a good breeder.  What didn't you like about the Araucanas? Flighty?  (you answered that already!)
wishing I have wondered if that could've stopped me from healing properly. They took another Mri and said that it looked ok but I don't know. Adrenaline and the good Lord put that fire out. Mostly the latter. The flames were above the door when I dumped the water. Now I know that a five gallon bucket of water wouldn't have put that fire out with one bucket full. Yes I had help from the man upstairs. I was shocked that the steps and underneath the steps were blazing as high as the house and one bucket of water put it out. Must've been holy water lol.

That is truly scary. When my garage caught fire last summer & I had to call the fire department to come help me save all the buildings & house I was terrified. As soon as I called 911 I headed out to the garage & starting trying to knock the fire down. The whole end of the garage was fully engulfed & had burned into the rafters. All I could think about was all my husbands tools & how I had to get the fire under control. The wind was horrific that day. That's how the fire had gotten so out of control without me knowing it. It was blowing the black smoke away from the house & I was in the garage attached to the house painting. If I hadn't been in the garage it would have been a lot worse. While painting I had the back door open and I kept hearing a sound like a plastic grocery sack caught on a branch or fence flapping hard in the high winds. Well it wasn't a plastic bag. When I stepped out the back door, all I could see was black billowing smoke & flames reaching high in the air coming over the top of the garage. Thankfully I heard the noise otherwise the building would have been gone in a few more minutes. I ran out & grabbed the hose & started watering down the flames. As fast as I sprayed the fire, the fire leapt to a new area. If the fire department hadn't finally arrived, it would have been a goner & could have easily spread to the house. Fires scare me to death now. Never want to go thru that again.
omg Lisa you're lucky you didn't ignore the sound and get burnt up tour self. Lord I know that had to be scary.
I was running on pure adrenaline. I just knew I had to try to knock the fire down. We depend on a volunteer fire department so sometimes the wait can be long. The good Lord was running the show that day. Where the fire had burned thru the wall & started into the rafters I had a counter below it that had my coffee can of paint thinner to clean my brush. Unfortunately the lid was missing so I had just layed a piece of newspaper on top of it the night before when I had cleaned up. All I could think about was that thinner exploding, plus there were gas cans & lawn mowers in there with gas in them. The 5 gallon pail with the stain was in there too. At one point I stood off to the side of the front of the garage & just sprayed towards the ceiling & wall that was dropping burning material down on the counter where the container with the paint thinner sat. I didn't stand in front of the door out of fear a explosion was going to happen. I honestly believe if my neighbor handnt showed up with a huge commercial fire extinguisher & started attacking the back corner. Freed me up to just concentrate on the ceiling & wall above the counter. This is the time the fire department finally arrived.

They are working on the SOP for the CLs, and they are supposed to have blue shells. That's why you need to check your breeder before you buy.

The Arkansas Blues were developed at a university, and are great if you like blue birds laying blue eggs!
Yeh SOP is blue
