We had 5 days of reprieve, lots of thawing, but now everything is so icy. Takes me so much longer to do chores when all my pathways are glare ice. I have those gripper things for my boots, but hate to wear them because when I take out their fermented feed the birds barely let me walk. I always end up stepping on one or two. Don't want to injure their feet with them.

Yea that would injure them for sure. Hopefully it gets better and melts fast soon.

Just holler chickens and shake that red bag! It's hilarious!

it sure is. Love watching mine run lol. My little Brahma was so sweet today. I sit on the steps and she hopped up for me to pet her. Then I sit in a chair outside and she waddled over and raised up and stared at me wanting to be held. We sit there for an hour before I had to put her in her coop at dark. Her and my silkie are the sweetest hens I got.

Aww that's sweet Red, some can be so loving.

My rir comes running and half flying to me just for walking out the door. I spoiled her by pulling grass and hand feeding her. Now she just stands and looks at me waiting on it. She acts like if I'm outside that she can't get it herself lol.

My rir comes running and half flying to me just for walking out the door. I spoiled her by pulling grass and hand feeding her. Now she just stands and looks at me waiting on it. She acts like if I'm outside that she can't get it herself lol.

Aren't they funny creatures. I miss not being able to free range mine anymore. They would follow me everywhere, most of the time tripping me. Hubby would get a kick out of it. I'd come in the house & he would say "I see you had the gang helping" usually they were a little too much help. 50-60 birds underfoot was a bit much

Glad you made it safely & got your meds. Make sure to try the hot shower treatment that Bert suggested. That should help with the discorfort as well.

I still have a herd of chickens, plus I'm going to do the EHAL hatch again this year.
