It could also be your sinuses backed up in your neck/head plus moving in a different direction, as York said, both affecting your equilibrium and causing pain. (Yes, your sinuses can affect the back of your head and neck) My neck pain is mostly gone because I stopped sitting that way with my laptop. My S.O. had to have sinus surgery years ago and it was an incredible relief for him. It could also be any number of other things, so please have it checked. :hugs

I've always had trouble with my ears, nose and throat. As you say it's all connected and once one part gets poorly it seems to affect it all. I had a quinsy (Abcess on my tonsil) once and my whole neck swelled up. Bad pain and my ears felt like they were about to explode. Ended up in hospital with it for a week as the infection was that bad.
