Its very cold out there though, jack frost has been playing on my storm door window. Haven't seen the ladies come out for water either. I closed the pop door last night because of the wind, but didn't latch it like any other time. They usually realize its not latched & push it open. Will have to head out early now because they need water to stay warm too. Their water station is not in the coop, bbl

I have 3 cages in the barn I am sure are frozen . They have to wait though til my bones get moving a little better.

Thanks granny. She's a 4 year old hatchery SLWyandotte. Never been friendly, not much of a layer, and her lacing was more like splotches. If I had more of a backbone, she would have been gone 2 years ago when she quit laying, but I am spineless. So she will live out her life, such that is is, unless she is suffering, which I don't think she is at this point. Just fading away.

Sounds like she had a wonderful life and you are making her last days comfortable. Bless your heart...
