Hi everyone!
Just having a bit of a kick back day today. Sitting in my recliner with my pup soundly asleep between my knees doing her best to push my legs off the footrest so she can stretch out.

We just came in from checking on the chickens. They were happily dust bathing in the warm sunny greenhouse totally oblivious to the just above zero temps outside. Tonight should be the coldest of our year so far so I'm grateful they have my greenhouse to take over when our winters get a bit rough. They are even more spoiled this year. I had bought clear roofing and lumber to create a 'breezeway" between the coop and greenhouse two years ago and my sweet DH did most of the work putting it up. I cut a "pophole" into the side of the greenhouse so the girls could go back and forth without ever stepping in snow or leaving the run. This leaves the people door to the greenhouse outside the run so I can easily access and still keep them in their run if I want to. We put up tarps to close it (the breezeway) in for winter but last fall we just enclosed the wind side, added a door I had picked up at an auction for access to the run and bought some clear acrylic sheeting to put over the fence and gate on the other side giving the critters another "playroom" in bad weather and keeps them safe from predators when we're not home without the need to lock them in the coop.

Sorry, guess I'm more bored than I thought, didn't mean to rattle on. Hope you are all enjoying this wonderful day as much as we are.

What is this funny looking chicken

A turken or Transylvanian naked neck chicken

Gran. This is for you the only hairy frog species in the world!

I've never seen that before! Hair isn't very fine at all. Kind of destroys our idiom.

Where are these found?

Michael has to wear a pregnancy suit for class and bring home a mechanical baby. Not sure why they make the boys do that.
Just wondering if the school allows you opt out of these lessons. Not saying they aren't valuable, just wondering. How does your son feel about it? They don't do anything like that here. Not sure how I feel about it. I'd rather my kids take an extra science or art class, I think. Or bring back driver's ed!

Spoiled chickens are happy chickens! Are you getting any eggs? I would love to see pictures of your place and greenhouse chickens.
