Yes it can, the blood infection attatcked the heart valves, destroying them. He was major big risk going into surgery. The second one almost killed him. They got him to post op & he just about bled out. They had to take him in & open him back up. The lung had got a little area that stuck to itself causing the problem. His second open heart they went in through his back & side. Because of his diabetes the wound wouldn't heal & close up. He spent 3 long months in the hospital. He never got his strength back. A year & a half later he passed. He had 3 long, painful years of treatment trying to fix the damage from that blood infection. Then they should have given her a IV of antibiotic. She has too have them or the infection won't clear
oh geez Lisa, I am so sorry. She asked me if can effect the heart ..
Sweet dreams Danna!i need sleep.have a great evening.. good night everyone....
Maybe the ER doc said something to her about the dangers of a sepsis infection. I don't know why ER didn't treat her, scary. Its hard when a individual that has had problems with substance abuse to get care in a ER. They tend to think, drug seeker & just put a bandaid on it & get them out of there.Lisa, How did you talk to her the other day ? do you think you could copy /paste that post to her ?
