Linda, I get that all the time and I eat it. when an egg passes through the reproductive track sometimes it will pick up little pieces of stuff. its nothing that will harm you. grosses some people out. a blood vessel can break too and get a spot of blood. still safe to eat. pretty common. The reason you dont see it in the store bought eggs is the same reason they sell white eggs. easy to candle and toss them.  It "might" be called a meat egg.

Where did you find the picture....
Linda, I get eggs all the time with a little fleck of blood & such. Its normal, just remove it if it grosses you out. That's why I always crack eggs in a dish & not directly into what I'm cooking or baking. That way if there is something with the egg, I can remove it without messing with what I'm cooking.

that is good to know   should I ever dive into the evil it forming realm of incubating eggs.
You have got to try hatching sometime twist. Its lots of fun, pretty amazing to watch a chick develop in just 19-21 days. Still get eggcited with every hatch
