I will tell you girls, there isnt anything like losing your mom.  A child is the worst nightmare ever but when your mom is gone so is a big piece of yourself. It is so odd. this feeling.    The one that has always been there for you. That helped you through your losses is not there to help you this time.  My mom knew this and did her best to prepare me for what she knew was coming soon.  She worried about me right up to her last breath. she would ask me, Are you going to be ok , will you stay here ? the payments here you can make, ect....    Thinking back on these things gives me some comfort. Knowing that, even in death I was on her mind.  Thats what a mom is. Make sure you give yours a hug today.   :hugs

I did a great big one. Love my parents very much.

Atti I always use the carcass. Our thanksgiving turkey gets boiled down for gumbo. When I have a whole chicken I do it in the crock pot, then we pick out what we want to eat with rice and veggies. Everything else goes overnight. In the morning I pick it again and use the meat for jambalaya, and all the liquid goes to stock. It's like eating the same bird three different times.

Should I make my broth in the crock pot?
