I am completely wore out. the baby is wrapped in a donut washcloth no bleeding, eyes finally opened. it wasnt even trying to stand so i am making it sit upright with the feet touching bottom. its black or grey with a little yellow in spots. kind of hard to tell because it is still wet. I have NO idea where to put it. the buddy chicks i bought for the first one , I think they are one and two weeks old now and if/when this one gets on its feet , it would be able to walk under the 2 week old . I have grown attached to these silkies and i dont want them outside but i am wondering if this cage is big enough to put a divider in ? it is 30in. widex18in.deepx30in.tall. I would have to add another heat lamp . this is of course assuming it will walk. I named the parents, because they are the first of my seramas and i hope to build a flock from them, Adam and Eve. LOL I dont want to name this one Cain . Looking for some suggestions here but not til we know it is stronger. I hope every one had a good day. I will be paying the piper for standing in the kitchen half the day. my back has hurt for a solid week now with no let up. I dont know what is going on with it but i hope it eases soon. my daughter is crying because baby wont have anything to do with her and if she tries to sit by him he starts crying and runs to daddy. he is about 18 months. what a welcome home.

thanks Kathy !!

thanks, by the sound of him theres nothing wrong with the lungs. LOL i hope the position he was in is the reason for not running around. was just reading Kathys info she shared . lot of good stuff there.

Granny congrats how about naming him/her Unable if he were mine it would be unstable YOU can either freeze the stock or can it. I keep meat separate in vacuum bags (seal a meal ) Or can can the stock in quart jars and all meat in pints with just enough stock to cover it.

Had our first chilly night, it was about 41, I think, lol. Just teasing... hope all of you in the cold part of the country are okay.

It was 80 here yesterday and raining cats and dogs. I stepped in a poodle.

We closed the house and turned on the a/c. Yes, I hear the clucks of sympathy from all of you sweeping and shoveling snow. Woke up to high 40's. First time EVER, my girls won't come out of the coop and some of them are nearly 4 years old. We've had colder days before? The **** eagle is back. He sat on the fence for about 20 minutes. Went to shoot the fence under him to scare him, but the pellet gun wasn't by the door where it's supposed to stay. Hubby had left it on the table out on the deck.

Time to put the fishing line back up I guess. We've never had more than a passing interest from some juvenile hawks before but this is a BIG guy. I've never seen an eagle that close; pretty magnificent. I wish he would get the little dog a couple houses down that barks incessantly and leave my chickens alone!

Granny, I'm pulling for your little baby!

Your daughter will probably do better at home and be more inclined to eat and drink there.

For all of you experiencing the worst of this weather system, I pray that you are all safe and sound.

Granny, I used a jar lid for water for the newly hatched Seramas and it seemed to work fine. Filled it with marbles so they wouldn't try swimming. Is the little one walking yet?
