I missed talking to every one today. its been one of those days, again. I found out that today was the last day on this earth for my friend. Autumn , be at peace with God.

I went out to look for that last serama egg to put in the bator with the other 3 i had collected. there wasnt one and on the way back in I fell twisting my ankle on my bad foot. I yelled for my family but no one could hear me. I got in the back door and there i sat crying my eyes out when my other friend walked through the door. she got the riding chair for me and cooked me dinner.

and since we were doing cats, well...... thank you all for the well wishes and great advise. now if i could just figure out how to can meat. I tried that a couple yrs ago. 200 dollars and 4 days later , even the jars went to the garbage. so any way, here we go.
this is Binks in a oversized recliner.
this is my shadow, he is 12 now.

I am taking 10 dozen pullet eggs (1 -2weeks old) and a big box of slightly worn (ok main worn) blankets to the women's domestic violence center tomorrow.
them "worn blankets" cant be that bad because I know you did that not too long back. I do remember you telling me when i had too many eggs what you had done with them. this isnt the first time guys, he does it often.

It was 80 here yesterday and raining cats and dogs. I stepped in a poodle.

We closed the house and turned on the a/c. Yes, I hear the clucks of sympathy from all of you sweeping and shoveling snow. Woke up to high 40's. First time EVER, my girls won't come out of the coop and some of them are nearly 4 years old. We've had colder days before? The **** eagle is back. He sat on the fence for about 20 minutes. Went to shoot the fence under him to scare him, but the pellet gun wasn't by the door where it's supposed to stay. Hubby had left it on the table out on the deck.

Time to put the fishing line back up I guess. We've never had more than a passing interest from some juvenile hawks before but this is a BIG guy. I've never seen an eagle that close; pretty magnificent. I wish he would get the little dog a couple houses down that barks incessantly and leave my chickens alone!

Granny, I'm pulling for your little baby!

Your daughter will probably do better at home and be more inclined to eat and drink there.

For all of you experiencing the worst of this weather system, I pray that you are all safe and sound.
stepped in a poodle LOL sorry about your visitor . they are beautiful birds for sure . maybe your neighbor would "allow" you to borrow the dog to protect the chickens ? my daughter did eat when she got home.

I've been checking in hoping for an update today. Sorry about your friend passing

but seems that someone was watching out for you sending another friend to help.

Love all the cat pictures from everyone. Shadow looks like a sweetie, and reminds me of my old kitty Lily who was small, all gray, and had a half (maybe more like a third) of a tail. She was not so sweet, except to me, and lived to be 18.

UnAble looks so tiny. Hopes he gets stronger. Mine were all under hens for the first 2 days, but were quite mobile after that. Once he starts zooming around, those Silkies might take him in, especially if you move them into his arena when introducing them. Silkies don't seem to be all that aggressive that I've ever heard. Looks like he's not going to be colored like either parent. So cute! I will now repeat my mantra, no more chicks, no more chicks because it is all too tempting.

Bummer about your foot, but it really doesn't look too bad in the pic. My hubs has a similar scar up the back of his leg from when he snapped his Achilles. He had to do crutches and the boot for about 3 or 4 months in addition to some physical therapy exercises. His depressed mood over the whole thing (feeling older and all that) was the hardest part after the surgery. Try to keep your boot on!

Twist is obviously what is referred to as a Good Egg.

thank you, is that mantra for you or me ? LOL I put a divider in the cage and the serama is off and running already. it flips on its back once in a while and has a time getting back up but it can. pretty funny to watch. you know, i have heard a couple people say what you did about the surgery. a few months. I am wondering if it has to do with what dr. you have or because of what all he did to me?

Very sorry about your friend. Your ankle does look awfully swollen you better stay off it for awhile. Your little peep is adorable I'm glad to see it standing. It looks so tiny!

It is so very tiny!! I used to raise birds and it is the size of a new born parakeet. it flips on its back and has a time getting up. very funny to watch. I dont like the fact it cant reach the water or food dish. I gave it a very small lid for water but the food is rather large for it and the smaller pieces fall through the flooring. its that shelf liners the grip stuff. my ankle is swollen, not as painful this morning though.

wishing, I would like to know if your husband had the same thing done to him that i did. i would wonder if the dr. is making me wait this long for the money. this is what he did to me. I had a spur on the bottom of my heel and one on the ankle. I had disintegrated bone fragments mixed into the tissue where the bone is crumbling. when he opened me he had to clean all that out by scraping it and taking it out. he then sawed the bone from spur to spur removing them and getting down to some healthier bone on my heel. then he put anchors in the heal bone and attached the Achilles to the screws. the dark portion you see on the bottom of my foot is where my skin is sloffing off . the rest of it, (the white) is not came off yet. I think the hole where the bandaid is, is almost closed. he doesnt want me to do anything with my foot except wiggle my toes. If this is what your husband had done then i think i am going to stop seeing him. I hate to think he is in it for the money but so many are. as i said, you are not the first person to tell me it didnt take that long. the only other thing i can think of would be because of my health and age. I am healing slower maybe ? I have been on low dose steriods for 20 yrs or more.
