The air cell looks like this. Is that right? I feel like it's enormous.

so that is day 16 air cell ? It looks good to me but i am no expert. LOL I really dont know about the dry hatch here, this time of yr. our house humidity is 22% I think they should at least have 30 at the minimum . I throw it at them after pip. you cant drown a chick that is breathing air in extra humid conditions. I have been in 100% humidity and i didnt drown. just saying..... if they dont lose enough during development they can pip into fluid and drown. and when i do lock down I fill all the trays and when they start pipping I throw a pr. of the ol mans white socks in there for good measure. works better then sponges. He asked for socks for Christmas, go figure

bet your excited hu? something else i wanted to mention. the hard cardboard at the end of a roll of foil, I cut a pc. of that couple inches long and used black tape to fix it to the end of my flashlight. eggs sit really well on it with no light escaping.

Your in the wrong line of business granny girl, you would make millions as a stand up comedian.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I have it on a flower pot, but it's not quite flush. I was going to get a rubber washer, but the cardboard roll is way better.

I've been trying to keep the humidity at 30%. Most days the humidity in the house was 60%, but on sunny days it dropped down to 40% in the house. Any time it got below 30% I added a little water.

I did dry hatching with my last hatch, 4/4 hatched. I try to keep the humidity at 30% until day 18. Then I bump it to about 45%, as soon as I have a external pip I bump it to 70%.

well, sounds like everyone knows what there doing. except enola,
