Congratulations on the fluffy butts, they are too darn cute to give to the neighborhood grouch. Glad your going to keep them :)

Paper trained is good, its a start anyway. LOL my taxes are VERY cheap here. almost ashamed to say. little over 2 1/2 acres. 171.69 for the yr. LOL no worries Twist, wont be long before you can claim old age exemption. I know you have a ton of land and bldings. there but have you gone to fight your assessment with the city? Get yourself a real estate book, circle 3 properties that are similar to yours in your county no matter the condition and that are assessed lower then your property and take it to them. ask for a hearing to get them lowered and make sure you are receiving all your exemptions. If for example, you owed money on one of the bldings, you can have the mortgage exemption. And have you even had it done since the market fell ?

Commercial property is exempt from the old age/homestead exemption, so no luck there. Last time I went and complained they upped my taxes even more. Property values in Dickinson are still going thru the room around here even with the oil slow down.

Dickinson is 60 or 70 miles north and a little west of Dickinson. Before the boom
Watford City was about 1500 people just heard they are over 15,000 now in less then 6 years.

Beautiful area up there Make sure to visit the North unit of the Theordore Roosevelt Nation park so pretty.

So how many of your chickens are you bring with you??

Quick warning the only month of the year we have never gotten snow is July.

One of my best friends passed away Sat morning , His daughter and I were engaged at one time. Funeral is Weds morn and I am to be a pall bearer. Gonna be in jeans unless the one pair of semi-dress pants fit.

Trailer house out at the farm had its hot water heater go. 900.00 for a hot water heater as trailer houses are "special" can't use a normal heater. also 250.00 worth of parts to re-connect the new one as my nephew is doing the work and doesn't know how to sodder copper pipe together and I can't get out of here.

Canned a maid on Sunday and evicted a couple on Monday morning. My winter pisseyness continues.

They took the stiches out of my friend's foot but not supposed to walk on it yet. I informed him that he is now 25% dumber then before as he can only count to 15 now. He has been testing his blood sugar keeping it between 1oo and 150. Much better then the over 400 the first part of December.

Pups are growing and trying to escape the pen have gone to def-com 2. One little boy is NOT happy with his siblings as they all now have teeth and his sister(s) thought they should nurse (he definitely has good lungs) he may end up with a "frilly dilly" she had finally stopped chasing him around.

Granny the liver female was at 5 lbs on sunday when she was 4 weeks old. little pig girl she is. Also the ring leader in the attempted eating of her brother and the only one to fall asleep in the puppy food dish. They all seem to have figured out the pooping in the "bedroom" of their pen is not good and are using the papered area.

Congrats on the new chicks.

Enjoy your family there Granny.

Granny HAPPY BIRTHDAY belated or early not sure which, think old-timers is kicking in.

TTFN to all and warm fuzzies.

Every year I hatch chicks and give away more than I keep. I gotta stop that. I gotta hatch whether we're here to tend them or not. I need to replace some and add to others.

Lord I sometimes wish I were younger but this is an even crazier world than I grew up in. I have a hermit neighbor down the road and I could easily become one but it's not God's way. Karls a little off his rocker. I tried to make contact but he wouldn't take the free eggs and jam I offered.

Such is life.

Cute chicks by the way. I expect I'll be dusting off the incubator.

Anybody here join our Granny Square Swap?

I was in Dickinson when I was in ND! My grandson took me to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park the first weekend his parents had to go to the hospital in Fargo. He is just like a GPS, despite the fact that his has just turned 5 years old.

I am probably only bringing 6 hens. If they have to be kept under the radar, I will have to leave my roosters here :( 3 Araucanas & 3 Cream Legbars hens.

How it works is each person makes the required number, then mail them to the host/hostess who sorts them so each person gets one of everyone elses, then packs and mails them back to the sender with postage paid by each person.

So you pay postage to the host/hostess' house and include postage for the host to send back your squares.

We have people from all over the country. This was the last swap. Host/hostess decides colors, yarn etc. etc. I personally encourage new crochet folks to join so they get to practice, but the pros join too.

2014 Crochet square swap, colorful circles.
